When you think promotional products, the first thing that enters your mind is coffee mugs and t-shirts. These gifts are pleasing to most professionals, but if you really want to impress your clients you should include their children in your gift giving. The main point in giving promotional items to your customers is to make your company memorable and show your appreciation. Including their children during the holidays will make a lasting impression that will overshadow that polo shirt that you gave to Dad.

Here are a few ideas to get you started down the right path:

• Candy- Alright, it’s not the most expensive gift out there, but the kids love it! Most of the major promotional product distributers will carry a line of candy from customized chocolate bars down to logo stamped lollipops. After all, it’s the thought that counts right. Nobody said you had to go out and buy Junior a brand new Mercedes Benz to get on his Dad’s good side! This gift is inexpensive enough to fit into your gift budget and still let’s your customers know that you are aware they have a family.

• Balloons- Seems like these things have been around since the beginning of time, huh? No matter what day and age we are living in; you will never find a kid that doesn’t like balloons! It’s good practice to keep a bag or two of these laying around the office for when the kids just happen to come along with Dad. This simple gesture keeps the kids quiet, Dad is impressed with your caring nature, and every person from your office to your client’s home gets to take a look at your logo and phone number displayed on the balloon. It seems like such a trivial thing to think about, but you will be surprised how little things can go a long way!

• Balls- You just can’t go wrong with a ball! Stress ball, cricket ball, basketball, baseball, football, the list can go on forever. It doesn’t matter what kind of ball it is; guaranteed the kids will play with it. Then every time Mom and Dad have to pick up the mess around the house, they will see your company branding and remember what a great person you are!

• T-shirts- T-shirts are on the high end of the scales if you are on a tight budget. A kid’s shirt normally runs around $5 or so, but the free advertising you’ll get will more than compensate for your cost. Kids love to be outside running around and enjoying their day. They have on one of your company’s t-shirts and next thing you know you have exposed your brand to the entire neighborhood. Mom goes to the mall and the kids tag along. The entire checkout line is forced to sit and stare at Junior’s new t-shirt with your details written all over it. The scenarios are limitless. This is a definite heavy exposure item!

So, you see, promotional items aren’t just limited to one target group. Think outside of the box and include kid’s products into your yearly promotional items order and take advantage of another chance to promote your business!
